Dear Yuletide Author, you awesome person,
I am always late.
Things I like:
Character. I like much more character than plot. (Though, plot is also good, if plotting is your thing, go for it.)
Nontraditional narratives/fragments/playing with timelines. (These are also just things I like. I also like straightforward stories, but if you want to try weird/experimental/whatever I am always interested.)
Fics which don't necessarily leave anything resolved, or everyone alive, or even anyone together.
Angst and woe.
Vast swathes of stuff left unsaid.
Historical accuracy, but not to stickler/obsessive levels.
Porn is not at all required, I adore PG stories. (I will read any rating.)
Slash/femslash/het/gen: anything is okay.
Pining. Pining is excellent.
Banter and adventuring and scheming, yay.
Clearly, not all of these are meant to apply to the same fic. I will read and adore pretty much anything in these fandoms.
Things I back away from slowly:
Twilight AUs, high school AUs, mpreg and noncon/torture/violence that's in the story for no in-character or fathomable dramatic reason, but is plonked in for it's own sake (terrible things organic to the story and in character are all fine and good, though).
Things I really don't mind:
In previous letters I objected to the possibility of such things as Inglourious Basterds with tentacles. I have clearly had a change of heart, because where there are canon tentacles, they may now roam free.
Politics and religion are not no-go areas at all, in fact on looking, they infest all four fandoms to some extent. (Politics/religion believable for the characters and text, of course.)
Character death. It was a weird and I am a horrible person moment when I typed this in the Things I Like section. So I made the Things I don't mind section. Kill as many characters as you want. Or need to. I mean, not just for fun?
1. Kraken - China Miéville (Billy Harrow, Dane Parnell)
These two! I adore Billy and Dane's grandly understated - from suspicious fascination, via baffled affection to trusting one another with their lives - Thing.
They don't have to be in love, they can be co-dependent fighters of crime. They can also be in inept, towering love, by all means. I haven't got many optional details, I'll read anything at all about them.
2. Im Angesicht des Verbrechens (Marek Gorsky)
Obviously, I don't mind who else you want to put in there - it was so hard cutting down the ensemble to four characters. Feel free to waffle on about art at length (or feel free not to!)
In conclusion, I will be so excited about a fic in any of these tiny to nonexistent fandoms. Happy yuletiding to you!
ps: I'm not a prolific bookmarker at all, but my AO3 page is here.

2. Im Angesicht des Verbrechens (Marek Gorsky)
Anything Marek-centric. Kid Marek or grown up, angsty, obsessive, gloomy, earnest, seriously playful, traumatised, gleeful, leaping out of planes with Sven, conflicted (yes, go to town with the conflicted) Marek. Sven is an optional detail!
I'd prefer the fic to be in English, though a little German dialogue, untranslatable descriptors, etc is fine. I know no Russian, so any Russian would need foot-noting.
The prompt sounds like I'm invested in Marek/Sven, but really I want Marek fic. Slash is good, but Marek and his family or Marek doing anything else you want would be an excellent thing.
A trailer is here. (NSFW due to nudity. Also violence and drug use, but nothing unexpected for a police drama.)
3. 16th & 17th Century RPF (Christopher Marlowe, William Shakespeare)
Christopher Marlowe fic, please. Canon compliant or crack, up to and including time-travel, fake deaths, hauntings and conspiracy theories. Perhaps Will's lurking in the background for the purposes of love/betrayal/rivalry/pining/general ill-fatedness.
Really, anything. Spying, infidelity, double-crossing, identity theft, murder, general skullduggery. High romance. Secret domesticity. I am not fussy.
4. Desperate Romantics (John Everett Millais, William Holman Hunt, Lizzie Siddal, Fred Walters)
Anything about one or more of these characters and the way they manage to let art complicate their lives. Optional details: general obliviousness and threatened disaster and attractions that are ineptly acted upon if they are acted upon at all.
